Champions are Not Born – They are Built
Take some time today and review all of your training, food logs and testing results over the last six months. As I have mentioned to you before, your success is not accidental; when you put in the dedication, discipline and follow your protocols as outlined your physical adaptations & testing results will ALWAYS take care of themselves. This isn’t my opinion but rather how human physiology works. As we say in the physiology world, Champions are not born, they are built from the inside out!
The foundation of your program is based on two principles. First, look back on what is working regarding your food, hydration, and training efforts and build on this information to ensure that your body is in a growth mode (in the forms of strength, speed & endurance). Second, analyze your field testing results to identify where your training efforts should be focused to eliminate any performance deficiencies and provide you the biggest return on your daily training efforts. Though this sound obvious when you are sitting and reading this, take a moment and review how many adjustments you have made over the last six months and the results you have created.
In addition to all of your training efforts, take a moment and review all of the hurdles you have overcome to create your consistency. Within the world of human performance, there are numerous people that say they want to determine their full potential as both an individual and an athlete; however, very few are willing to make the personal sacrifices to evaluate what this potential really looks like. Ironically, most people are so afraid of failure, they find it safer to not even try and use excuses like “I don’t have time” or “I am not athletic” than to find a solution to these fears and hurdles. Congratulations on facing all of your fears, frustrations and setbacks – you are one, of very few, that are living life to the fullest every day both as a person and an athlete.
As always, Work Smart, Not Hard and Avoid Overtraining!
Yours in sport & health,
-Coach Robb, Coaches and Staff
